Description
Who knew there was a glacier in Nevada? This was a very serendipitous Fourth of July weekend. We started with a drive across the Silver State on the Loneliest Road in America. After camping for four nights at 7,500 plus feet to acclimate we set out to hike the Bristlecone Pine Trail in the Great Basin National Park. I guess we had acclimated better than I had thought since I ended up going all the way to the alpine glacier in the cirque created in the cathedral-like confluence of Wheeler Peak and Jefferson Davis Mountain. What a hoot it is to ramble!
