This is a hike I would love to take again! The last time I hiked up to the upper cascade was in 1992 and the trail, hand over hand from roots to questionable rocks, wasn't good enough to be called a goat trail then. But, I digress... Recently someone told me that the trail to Catawba Falls -- also spectacular had suffered a rough winter and needed repairs. Still, the scramble from the lower to the upper cascade was worth the cuts and scrapes. If I can ever find the photo that I worked from for this painting I'll upload it to FAA.
