Completed May, 2009. This is one of our favorite nearby places for camping, hiking, sketching and taking photographs. The upper cascade of Stone Mountain Falls is the longest unbroken veil of any North Carolina waterfall. If you're driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway save some time for a detour to this wonderful North Carolina State Park.

Thank you. There is an area in the painting that literally sparkles when the afternoon sun hits it. At least it did before I, reluctantly retired the piece to my portfolio several years ago. This is one of my obsessional waterfalls. I'll probably paint it a few more times and a few more ways. JD
