This is a view along the Loop trail at Stone Mountain State Park in Wilkes County, NC. My stack of photos that I want to paint from this area just grows and grows. This is my pencil sketch of the half-sheet treatment of the subject. These four pines have always looked like four lanky adolescent girls with there hair being blown about by the strong winds that often sweep over the granite surfaced of Stone Mountain. I'm also doing a loose quarter-sheet of the subject, which is developing splendidly!
