Winslow Homer said “three waves make an ocean.” A few burning leaves on wet moss covered rocks can suggest the essence of fall on the Black Mountains. This little rush of autumn is just above one of my favorite cascades beside an orphaned camp site in the bowels of the Pisgah National Forest.
