Description
Some things never get old. But, the people who like to do them do. Ive been hiking to Roaring Fork Falls for about 25 years. Its always a treat. But, with our drenching spring rains, last Tuesday may be the best Ive ever seen this North Carolina treasure. Ant the short walk out to the falls was better than ever. We enjoyed dandelions, old and new, abundant wild Iris, blooming wild strawberries, all kinds of trillium, violets, daisies, lilies, dogwood blooms and bright spring leaves painting a perfect blue sky, tiny butterflies in a spring mating frenzy, more water rushing down Roaring Fork Falls than I have ever seen, and complete solitude. As we approached the falls it became obvious why it is called Roaring Fork. Great light and the right time of day helps, too.
