Viewing the videos and photos of the power of the recent snowmelts around the west has been an incredible experience. In other years we probably would have been out there. It’s no longer our turn. But that doesn’t stop a guy from flipping over a piece pf watercolor paper that he had been doodling on and attempting a quick sketch. People are always asking ‘how long did it take to paint that?’ The honest answer is ‘when I’m painting I have no idea about what Time is doing.’ Painting is real, Time the artificial construct. I blocked in the sky, rocks and trees on part of a Wednesday afternoon. The next day, after doing a pen and ink sketch of the foreground trees and rocks, I added the foreground details. Remember, it’s a sketch. By-the-way, how’s that snowmelt for solar power?
